Sleep Story

- app design, brand design, motion graphics design

The Sleep Story app, conceptualized for a sci-fi prototyping class, operates in a fictional dystopian world. The app is designed to revolutionize the way users perceive their dreams by allowing direct import of their previous night's dreams. It not only records dream synopses but also provides analysis to unveil hidden meanings. The goal is to help users better understand themselves by interpreting the subliminal messaging often present in dreams.

The app's design mirrors future aesthetics, incorporating minimalism, geometric shapes, and cool-toned colors. In this envisioned future, user preferences are limited due to heavy government influence on individual lives. For instance, on the “shop” page the app strategically places targeted ads related to dream imagery, such as a Nike ad appearing as the user dreams about running. Additionaly, I decided to present the app in an auto-played video presentation to emphasize the app's control over users' lives, showcasing a lack of autonomy in exploring the app independently.

Visual depiction of how the app works: as long as the users’ phone is within 20 feet of their head when they are asleep, their dreams will be directly imported into the app.
