Lingerie by Lorient

While studying abroad at the London College of Fashion, I conceptualized and designed a storefront for Lorient, an imaginary lingerie brand, that takes a futuristic approach to traditional lingerie. The project consisted of not only creating lingerie designs, but also crafting a digital mockup, constructing a physical model, and devising a store floor plan. Opting for a distinctive window scheme, I aimed to captivate potential customers by infusing a bright and dramatic aesthetic that resonated with the fluid and unique design ethos of Lorient lingerie. Using a striking purple display, I intended to evoke curiosity, leveraging the innate human attraction to shiny and visually appealing elements. My approach was shaped by an in-depth analysis of hundreds of London storefronts, leading me to recognize a common element in the most compelling displays: repetition. Recognizing that repeated clothing items on mannequins evoked deeper engagement with the clothing item itself, I purposefully integrated repetition as a central theme in my design. For the storefront, this approach served to draw attention to the showcased lingerie, forcing viewers to engage more intimately with the displayed items. To ensure coherence within the brand, I extended this design philosophy to the store layout, harmonizing symmetry and repetition to create a seamless flow and cohesive experience for customers navigating the space.
